High School Media Center and STEAM Labs Expansion

Summit School District
Project Type: Alterations and Additions
Project Area: 18,000 s.f.

EI Associates recently assisted the Summit School District with the design of an addition to the Media Center and STEAM Labs at Summit High School.

The existing Media Center was 20 years old and in need of updating to meet the needs of a new student academic commons.  The existing metal roof, gutter, fascia and soffit systems were in need of repairs and replacement.  A second-floor addition over the existing one-story Media Center is proposed to accommodate the new student academic commons with STEAM Labs.  The proposed STEAM addition will be approximately 6,000 square feet in size and will comprise four STEAM labs, a T.V. studio, music, dance and chorus instructional areas.  The total project STEAM area will be approximately 18,000 sq.ft.
