The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Division of Parks and Forestry (DPF) is abandoning the existing subsurface wastewater disposal system (septic system) located at Lake Hopatcong State Park. The park site will direct the wastewater flow to the Musconetcong Sewerage Authority’s (MSA) collection system located at the intersection of Lakeside Boulevard and Center Street, approximately 400 feet to the south of the project site.
The new pump station force main will run over half a mile through mountainous terrain and freshwater wetlands and connect to the public sewer.
The project includes complete plumbing renovation of the 7,000 square foot bath house as well as sewer connections to the historic museum building, administration building and new camp ground rest room building.
