Recently purchased by Novartis, Fougera Pharmaceuticals is a pharmaceutical company that has existing facilities in Melville and Hicksville, New York. Due to business growth they required an expansion of their laboratory facilities at their Melville site on Long Island. After a laboratory expansion conceptual study it was decided to convert the existing tablet manufacturing, packaging and warehouse spaces into new laboratory facilities.
The 10,000 sf renovated warehouse space was designed to accommodate the following:
All plumbing, HVAC, and electrical system and supporting lab utilities were to be renovated and upgraded to accommodate the new use areas.
EI Associates was selected to provide design development, construction drawings, construction cost estimates, bidding phase and construction phase services for the complete renovation and upgrade project. All discipline expertise required was provided by EI’s in-house team of pharmaceutical design specialists.
The design and construction documents were completed on schedule and the project moved into the construction stage. The estimated construction cost was $1,350,000 and lasted four months. EI monitored the construction, reviewed shop drawings, responded to RFI’s, prepared record drawings and assembled a final project package for the client.
