EI ASSOCIATES WINS OVERALL DESIGN CATEGORY GREEN BUILDING ASSOCIATION OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA 2009 GREEN BUILDING DESIGN AWARDS

HARRISBURG, PA, - EI Associates, Harrisburg architectural firm received the Overall Design Award for the new Paradise Elementary School (Pequea Valley School District, Paradise, PA) at the 2009 Green Building Association of Central Pennsylvania’s Green Building Design Awards (http://gbacpa.org). The award ceremony was held on April 16, 2009 at the Wildwood Conference Center at Harrisburg Area Community College. The award was announced to EI Associates on Wednesday, April 1.
Awards were presented to winners in the six LEED credit areas. Paradise Elementary School was entered in four of the six.
The New Paradise Elementary School, built on the 17 acre site of the existing Paradise Elementary School, is designed to obtain LEED Gold Certification. The District sought to build a building that conserved land resources, optimized energy performance, reduced energy consumption and costs, reduced water consumption, lessened storm water impact, and supported the regional economy by utilizing regional materials and resources.
